INTRODUCTION

APHV - Association of Public Health Veterinarians

The Association was registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961, in August 1997. Its first activity was organizing a day-long scientific seminar, inaugurated by the Hon'ble Minister Shri Anisur Rahaman of the Animal Resources Development Department, Government of West Bengal. The seminar, titled "100 Years of Bang's Disease and Its Control in Humans and Animals," was held on September 19, 1997, and featured participation from renowned scientists in both the medical and veterinary professions in India. Since then, the Association has been dedicated to disseminating knowledge about Veterinary Public Health (VPH) among medical and veterinary professionals, while also raising awareness among the general public and school children about various VPH-related issues to encourage their active involvement.
